The Poem “The service you’ve given mankind” was among a few others in an old journal I found of my grandfather’s after his passing. For some reason or another, the lyrics jumped out at me, and I felt that they would be very beautiful set to music. I feel as though my grandfather was there beside me as I composed the music to one of his favorite poems.
