Music & Text: Grace Hegy

One of my vocal students asked me to write a song for her to sing at her brother’s missionary homecoming based on her favorite scripture: 1 Nephi 3:7. I prayed long and hard over the lyrics and felt it was what the Lord wanted because the student’s mother said it was inspired because it was just what her daughter needed to hear. I submitted to the LDS church’s annual music contest in 2017 and it was given Award of Merit! I was lucky enough to be present as it was performed at the Assembly Hall in Salt Lake City in Feb. 2018.
