This hymn and the Psalm it is based on (Psalm 23) are so peaceful, so I aimed to create an arrangement that at times evokes a calm babbling brook and the sense of security in knowing one is being watched over by Christ, the One true shepherd. However, the lyrics in the third verse are full of gratitude and confidence, so I wanted the final verse to sound bold and triumphant in contrast to the more subdued first verse.
