This hymn is a prayer to God in remembrance of Jesus Christ and His Atonement. My intent in arranging this hymn was to provide a piece that could be learned with minimal effort by the vocalists; hence the vocal line is the melody of the hymn throughout, and can be sung by a soloist or unison group. I feel that the power of this hymn lies in the text, and so the piano and flute accompaniment is simply supposed to enhance the words. This arrangement is reverent, worshipful, and at point gratefully powerful.
