This hymn and the Psalm it is based on (Psalm 23) are so peaceful, so I aimed to create an arrangement that at times evokes a calm babbling brook and the sense of security in knowing one is being watched over by Christ, the One true shepherd. Modeled after my solo voice and piano arrangement of the same hymn (with some embellishments), I wanted to arrange a hymn to showcase the violin, my first instrument, as I find the melody works quite well for strings.
